Senate provides the following insurance covers to the Transport Industry and those with
transport risks:
GOODS IN TRANSIT COVER FOR TRUCKING COMPANIES
We currently insure more than 2 500 trucking companies
and businesses involved in the transportation of goods throughout the
Southern African continent. This type of cover is applicable to any
company or individual transporting goods on behalf of others and provides
the transporter with the necessary protection in the event that these
goods are lost / damaged.
CONTINGENT GOODS IN TRANSIT COVER FOR TRANSPORT BROKERS
Typically, the transport broker is an expert in arranging for the transportation of goods
on behalf of the owner, by subcontracting to the most suitable transport company and usually
at preferential tariffs. The transport broker may accept to ensure that these goods are
adequately insured whilst in the care of their subcontractors. If for some reason the
appointed subcontractor fails to indemnify any loss / damage to these goods, this cover will
protect the transport broker from claims brought against him by the owner of the goods.
OWNER OF GOODS CONVENTIONAL GOODS IN TRANSIT COVER
Conventional goods in transit insurance for companies or individuals wishing to insure their
own goods during transit, whether these be transported by their own vehicles or by
transporters, rail or air freight.
